  • Laxative effect: Magnesium citrate is often used as a laxative due to its water-drawing properties, which can help to soften stools.
  • Absorption: It is generally well-absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Neurotransmitter regulation: Magnesium can influence the levels of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, which are involved in mood, sleep, and cognitive function.
  • Muscle relaxation: Magnesium can help relax muscles, including those involved in muscle spasms and cramps.

Magnesium Malate

  • Energy metabolism: Magnesium malate is believed to play a role in energy metabolism, particularly in the citric acid cycle, which is involved in producing energy for cells.
  • Muscle function: It may also be beneficial for muscle function and recovery.
  • Neurotransmitter synthesis: Magnesium may be involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters, such as glutamate and GABA, which play important roles in brain function.

Magnesium Taurate

  • Heart health: Magnesium taurate has been studied for its potential benefits for heart health, including reducing blood pressure and improving heart function.
  • Muscle function: It may also play a role in muscle function and relaxation.
  • Neuroprotection: Magnesium taurate has been studied for its potential neuroprotective properties, which may help protect nerve cells from damage.
  • Muscle relaxation: As mentioned earlier, magnesium can help relax muscles, including those involved in muscle spasms and cramps.

Magnesium Bisglycidate

  • Wound healing: Magnesium bisglycidate has been investigated for its potential applications in wound healing, although more research is needed.
  • Neuroinflammation: While more research is needed, magnesium bisglycidate may have potential anti-inflammatory properties, which could be beneficial for conditions affecting the nervous system.

Prohibited Usage

1. Dosage:

  • Overdose: Taking excessive amounts of magnesium can lead to side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.

2. Interactions with Medications:

  • Diuretics: Magnesium supplements may interact with diuretics (water pills), potentially leading to low potassium levels.
  • Other medications: Some medications may affect magnesium absorption or metabolism. Consult with a healthcare professional to check for any potential interactions.

3. Kidney function:

  • Impaired kidney function: Individuals with impaired kidney function should exercise caution when taking magnesium supplements, as they may accumulate in the body and lead to toxicity.

4. Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

  • Consult a healthcare professional: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it's essential to consult with a healthcare provider before taking any magnesium supplement.

6. Individual sensitivity:

  • Side effects: Some individuals may experience side effects such as diarrhea, even at recommended dosages. If you experience any adverse effects, discontinue use and consult with a healthcare professional.
